چکیده

Myrtle (Myrtus communis L.) is an important medicinal plant, of which all parts have pharmaceutical and nutritional applications distributed throughout the southwest regions Iran. The aerial myrtle were collected at different phenological stages (vegetative, flowering, unripe fruit ripening stages, after fully mature dispersal stage) from Fars Province Iran analyzed with GC–FID GC–MS. All data submitted to multivariate statistical analysis, showing many differences among various plant their stages. Monoterpene hydrocarbons (18.9–50.5%) oxygenated monoterpenes (38.2–72.4%) most abundant class in volatile emissions, ?-pinene, 1,8-cineole, limonene, linalool, ?-terpineol, linalyl acetate geranyl being main constituents majority examined samples. ?-Pinene content ranged 8.88% stage (leaves) 32.84% flowering leaves. Limonene, dominant component stage, was 23.97% flowers, while limonene amount 0.14–1.42% other harvest greatest 1,8-cineole obtained prior 45.98%, lowest flowers. total phenol flavonoid contents varied between parts: highest for extract made before-flowering leaves (66.52 mg GAE/g 7.49 QE/g extracts). Overall, study indicated that collecting vegetative especially organs, would be considerable importance.

Karyological features of wild and cultivated forms of myrtle (Myrtus communis, Myrtaceae).

Myrtle is an evergreen shrub or small tree widespread throughout the Mediterranean region. In Turkey, both cultivated and wild forms, differing in plant and fruit size and fruit composition, can be found. These differences may have resulted from the domestication of the cultivated form over a long period of time. We investigated whether wild and cultivated forms of myrtle differ in karyological...
